Meet the Director, Shannon Bauerle

Almost ten years ago, a spontaneous audition for The Vagina Monologues quickly led to Shannon Bauerle being offered to take on the role of directing the annual production. Never one to turn down a challenge, she accepted and never looked back.

As an Instructor in Women’s and Gender Studies at UNC Charlotte, Shannon’s passions are evident in her original academic courses, commitment to activism, and desire to create opportunities for community connections and marginalized groups’ voices to truly be heard. In attempt to provide a space that was more inclusive and diverse, Shannon created Tales From Down There, a production of all original stories that highlight issues that so many experience in a patriarchal world while also raising money for non-profits and other organizations in need. Project Enough now builds on that mission by creating multiple productions throughout the year for even more original stories to be shared and funds raised to benefit the community.
